Topside Roof Deck in Newport Beach, CA
In Newport Beach’s charming Lido Marina Village, the Lido House Hotel draws visitors with its coastal elegance—but it’s the rooftop bar, Topside Roof Deck, that truly steals the show.
A favorite among locals and travelers alike, Topside offers sweeping views of Newport Harbor, making it one of the most memorable ways to experience the Balboa Peninsula.
Curated by Chef and Partner Riley Huddleston, the menu reflects a distinctly coastal Californian flair—think octopus tacos, scallop crudo, and other ocean-inspired bites that pair perfectly with the sea breeze.

How would you describe the vibe at Topside Roof Deck to someone who’s never been?
Chef-Partner Riley Huddleston
Topside blends the laid-back energy of coastal California with a touch of elevated luxury. As Newport Beach’s only rooftop bar, it offers panoramic views, a fresh ocean breeze, and a rotating soundtrack from local DJs that keeps things vibrant but never overwhelming. Whether you’re here for a sunny brunch, sunset cocktails, or a casual night out, it always feels effortlessly cool—like you're exactly where you’re supposed to be.
Which menu items would you recommend for first-time guests?
Start with the Yellowtail Crudo—it’s light, refreshing, and a perfect introduction to our coastal flavor profile. The Octopus Tostada is another favorite, with bold spice and texture. For something heartier, the Breakfast Sandwich during brunch or the Skirt Steak Skewers from our all-day menu are a can’t-miss. To drink, I always recommend the Devil to Pay—it’s my personal favorite. It’s smoky, herbaceous, and beautifully balanced, a cocktail that really captures the soul of our bar program.
Topside Roof Deck is located in the Lido Marina Village - what are some fun things to do in the neighborhood before or after visiting Topside?
Lido Marina Village is perfect for a full day of exploring. You can browse upscale boutiques, grab a coffee, and stroll along the marina, or rent a Duffy boat and cruise the harbor. It’s got this modern coastal charm that makes even simple moments feel special—especially when paired with a rooftop cocktail at the end of it all.
What do you hope visitors will take away from a visit?
I want people to leave feeling lighter—like they’ve had a moment of escape. The view helps with that, of course, but so does a great cocktail and a thoughtful dish. We design dishes that are rooted in familiar comfort but layered with unexpected flavor, texture, or presentation. We’re intentional about creating an all-encompassing space that’s both energizing and grounding.

We recently launched our Topside Brunch Club, every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in partnership with LYLO Sauvignon Blanc. It’s a lively experience with a DJ, wellness-forward RFKocktails, and a rooftop menu that’s all about bold flavors and balance. And if you’re not drinking, we’ve got fresh-pressed juices and spirit-free options that are just as thoughtful. Whether it’s brunch or golden hour, we want Topside to feel like a reset.
